Holy holy, my new record is recorded and done. I cannot thank the people who helped make it come to life enough. I’ll share who they all are soon, but just know that it was a dream crew of people. I’m beyond thankful and cannot wait to get it out into the world.

I’m going to be playing a solo show on May 9th at Rock Shop in Brooklyn, NY. Also playing this night is my good friend and fellow Sharon Van Etten band member, Heather Woods Broderick as well as Amanda Shires. I’ll also be playing bass in Heather’s band this night. I’m getting ready to record a new record (and tour like crazy in SVE’s band) so this will be my last solo show for a while. You all should come out for it, will be a very fun one!

Anyone who knows me knows that one of my absolute favorite records that came out in 2011 is Little Scream’s album The Golden Record (in fact, I am listening to it while I type this). So it is with the absolute utmost pleasure that I tell you that I am going to be playing a few shows with them at the end of November on the east coast! I’ll be playing solo. It’s gonna rule.

Wow! It has been a minute since I’ve updated my site or talked about any shows I’m doing! I’ve been busy on the road this year playing in Sharon Van Etten’s band and then when i’m home I’ve been writing my new record. I’ll be recording a new in January (more info on that to come soon). You’ll be hearing much more soon.

I’m doing a couple of solo shows to finish out 2010. This Thursday, September 30th, I’ll be playing my first show in Kansas City in over 5 years. I can’t believe it has been that long since I’ve been back. The show is at The Uptown Theater with Jimmy Wayne. I’m doing a very short set at about 8 pm. The show is a private event so I can’t help with tickets and this was a last minute booking so none of the clubs were available to do a public show. If anyone knows of anything for Friday, October 1st, let me know, would love to play!
The other solo shows are a quick tour through Vermont in late October. I’m playing Montpelier, Middlebury & Burlington. After that I’m off on tour as part of Sharon Van Etten’s band for all of November (we’re opening 20 shows for Junip) and then working on a new record in December & January.

This Saturday, SiriusXM will broadcast a show hosted by two of my favorite people: Jimmie Johnson (NASCAR) & Chris Robinson (Black Crowes) that will feature my song “The Lucky Ones”.
I was in the studio for the taping and it was hilarious, Chris and Jimmie played off each other so well, you’d think that they were DJs for a living. In fact, I’ve heard a rumor that what was originally going to be one show is being made into two because they captured so much good stuff.
Check your SiriusXM listings for time & channel UPDATE: The Show’s going to be on the Spectrum Channel. I still don’t know the time, but they are going to be promoting it pretty heavily on air so listen to Sirius between now and Saturday and you’ll hear the time…
